Terms of Service

Last updated: April 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of www.taiwandigitalfest.com/2026 (the "Site") and your participation in Taiwan Digital Fest 2026 ("TDF 2026"). By purchasing a ticket, registering an account, or using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Site or attend the event. The Site and TDF 2026 are jointly operated by Taiwan Digital Nomad Association ("TDNA", Taiwan) and Nomad Explore LLC (Wyoming, USA).

1. Parties and scope

When you purchase a ticket, your payment contract is with Nomad Explore LLC. When you use member services (event registration, namecard, visa support letter, accommodation matching), your service contract is with TDNA. Together they operate TDF 2026. Questions about either relationship can be directed to fest@dna.org.tw.

2. Tickets and entry

A ticket grants the named purchaser access to the festival activities covered by that tier, during the festival dates stated on the Site. Tickets are issued in the purchaser's name and are not transferable to another person without our prior written consent. We may require valid photo ID at check-in to match the name on the ticket. Admission is subject to the Code of Conduct and to organiser discretion for matters of safety or compliance.

3. Prices, currency, and taxes

Ticket prices are shown on the Site in the currencies indicated. Applicable taxes are shown at checkout where required. For buyers who need a Taiwanese tax invoice (統一發票) with a uniform business number (統編), please provide the number during checkout via the tax ID field. We cannot reissue invoices after the event without reasonable cause.

4. No-refund policy; transfer instead

Because TDF 2026 is a live event with venue, staffing, and supplier commitments made in advance, tickets are non-refundable. You may instead transfer your ticket to another person free of charge (see below).

  • 24-hour cooling-off: you may request a full refund within 24 hours of the original purchase by emailing fest@dna.org.tw. This applies once per customer and does not apply to tier upgrade orders.
  • Event cancelled by organisers: if TDF 2026 is cancelled in full, all ticket holders receive a full refund. If specific sessions are cancelled or rescheduled, the overall ticket remains valid and no partial refund is owed.
  • Visa denial with our support letter: if you cannot attend because the relevant authority denies your visa and you applied with a visa support letter we issued, we will refund 80% of the ticket price on presentation of the denial notice.
  • Outside the three situations above, tickets are non-refundable regardless of reason (change of plans, illness, travel disruption, force majeure affecting only you, etc.). Please transfer the ticket instead.

Ticket transfer: you may transfer your ticket to another person at no charge through your member account until the transfer deadline published on the Site (typically set a short time before the festival begins). Transferring changes the ticket holder's name for on-site check-in; the original purchaser and the new holder should both receive confirmation emails.

This policy is designed under EU Consumer Rights Directive 2011/83/EU Article 16(l) (exemption of the right of withdrawal for leisure services supplied on a specific date), the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015, and applicable Taiwan and US state law. It does not affect any non-waivable statutory rights you may have under the laws of your place of residence.

5. Conduct, safety, and removal

All attendees must follow the Code of Conduct at code-of-conduct. We reserve the right to refuse entry, remove attendees, or cancel tickets without refund for behaviour that violates the Code of Conduct, disrupts the event, or endangers others. You are responsible for your own safety, belongings, and conduct while at the event and surrounding activities.

6. Photography and media release

TDF 2026 is a public-facing festival. Photographers and videographers will be present. By attending, you consent to being photographed, filmed, and recorded, and you grant TDNA and Nomad Explore LLC a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to use those images and recordings for festival documentation, marketing, and reporting. If you object to appearing in specific material, please contact fest@dna.org.tw and we will make reasonable efforts to remove or blur identifying elements in materials we control.

7. Visa support letters

We may issue a visa support letter to confirm that you are a registered ticket holder. A support letter is an invitation document only — it does not guarantee visa approval, and visa decisions are made solely by the relevant authority. We are not responsible for visa outcomes. If your visa is denied, see the refund rules in Section 4.

8. Partner accommodation and external trip operator

We list curated partner stays and facilitate introductions using invite codes. The booking contract for accommodation is between you and the partner property. We are not a party to that contract and are not liable for the condition, pricing changes, cancellation terms, or any dispute regarding the accommodation. Contact the partner directly for booking issues; we can assist with introductions but cannot arbitrate.

The 3-Day 2-Night Hualien Digital Nomad Trip bundled into the Backer ticket is operated by a licensed Taiwan travel agency (Class-A, 甲種旅行業). The operator's name and licence number will be published on the trip page before the festival begins. Under Taiwan's Tourism Development Act (發展觀光條例) and the Regulations Governing Travel Agencies, the licensed operator will issue a standard domestic travel contract (國內旅遊定型化契約) to each participant covering transportation, lodging arrangements, and the itinerary of the trip. TDNA and Nomad Explore LLC act as the referring organiser and bundler of this trip into the Backer ticket; the travel-service relationship for on-trip transportation, lodging, guiding, and itinerary delivery is between you and the licensed operator. For anything that happens during the trip itself (schedule changes, transportation delays, accommodation issues, activity safety), please contact the licensed operator first; we will assist with coordination but cannot substitute for the operator's statutory responsibilities.

9. Member accounts and content

If you create an account, you are responsible for keeping your credentials safe and for the activity performed under your account. You must provide accurate information. You may not impersonate others, scrape member data, or use the Site to harass, spam, or infringe rights.

By submitting content to TDF 2026 (for example, namecard text, Nomad Award submissions, profile bios), you grant TDNA and Nomad Explore LLC a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to display and distribute that content in connection with operating the festival and promoting it. You retain ownership of your content and may delete it via your account or by contacting support. Deletion may take up to 30 days to fully propagate across caches and backups.

10. Intellectual property

All logos, brand marks, trade dress, and original content on the Site are owned by TDNA, Nomad Explore LLC, or their licensors. You may not reproduce, modify, or create derivative works without prior written permission, except for personal non-commercial use such as sharing event information on social media.

11. Disclaimers

The Site and the event are provided "as is". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components, or that any content on third-party platforms we link to is accurate.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the aggregate liability of TDNA, Nomad Explore LLC, their affiliates, officers, employees, contractors, and volunteers arising out of or relating to these Terms or TDF 2026 shall not exceed the amount you paid for your ticket in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. We shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, including lost profits, lost data, or loss of goodwill. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for gross negligence, wilful misconduct, death, or personal injury caused by our negligence, where such limitation would be prohibited by law.

13. Force majeure

We are not liable for delays, cancellations, or failures to perform caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, pandemics, government action, power failures, strikes, or war. Where a force majeure event forces cancellation of TDF 2026 in full, the refund policy in Section 4 applies.

14. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Taiwan (R.O.C.) for matters concerning TDNA and the event itself, and by the laws of the State of Wyoming, USA, for matters concerning ticket purchase contracts with Nomad Explore LLC. Any dispute shall first be addressed through good-faith negotiation; failing resolution, exclusive jurisdiction lies with the Taipei District Court of Taiwan for TDNA-related disputes and with the state or federal courts located in Wyoming for Nomad Explore LLC-related disputes. Nothing here limits mandatory consumer-protection rights you may have under the laws of your place of residence.

15. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced on this page and, where appropriate, by email. The "Last updated" date indicates the latest revision. Your continued use of the Site after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
